VB Petition

Codetiquette

The primary function of The Access Web is to assist fellow developers in search of solutions to specific problems.  The secondary, yet equally desirable, goal of this website is to allow the developer  to improve his or her coding skills and understanding of Microsoft Access and VBA by following the comments in most of the code samples presented here either in text form or in all the open source utilities and controls.

All utilities, code samples, and wizards provided on this website are free and you are allowed to use them as part of your own applications.  If you are going to redistribute any code or utility,  please follow common developer courtesy by mentioning the original authors' contributions and by following any copyright guidelines the author may have provided along with the utility or code.

I have tried to correctly credit the original authors, either under Acknowledgements or in the specific article's header information. But since To Err Is Human, it's possible that I may have overlooked something.  If you come across any such articles, please let me know so that I can make the necessary corrections.

Please refrain from distributing modified versions of any of the code samples and utilities in the public domain, especially the wizards and COM controls (dlls), without the prior consent of the original authors.  I must ask this to prevent compatibility and versioning problems that would arise from the control/utility being recompiled without the prior knowledge of the author (who ends up receiving the problems via email).  Although the free samples provided here  imply  the "As Is"  and unsupported nature of the website, random code changes by the end developer makes it that  much tougher for the original author to answer questions should the developer get stuck on a particular issue.

Enjoy
