General: Learn about the new Acecss Virus

Author(s)
Dev Ashish

Users of Access should be aware of a new macro virus, called "AccessIV," which can corrupt information in databases created in Access 2.0, Access 95, and Access 97. Though no users to date have reported problems with the virus, and the risk of transmission is relatively low because databases are not typically circulated around the Internet, there are steps you can take to ensure the protection of your Access databases. These include using security measures already built into Access, as well as a new virus-scanner from Microsoft currently in development. Learn the details of the AccessIV virus, and the resources available to protect your databases, at the following Web sites.
